  • Today, I want to talk to everyone about building business relationships. Too many times, we are so excited about our business that we (figuratively) throw up on our contacts, prospects, friends and family. We talk so much to them about how great the company you just signed up for is, how this is the best opportunity ever and how much money they can make if they sign up. You MUST remember though – there is a difference between excited and upbeat about your company and vomiting it on them. When you vomit on a prospect, this is the time where whomever it is that you are talking to looks at you and runs. Don’t be that person that people see HIV printed on your forehead or when you call them it shows up as HIV instead of your name on their Caller ID. You don’t want your prospects to want to hide from you. You want to build a business relationship with them – even if they don’t buy from you THIS time.

There is no special gimmick, hard core sales pitch, or magic dust you say or sprinkle on people where they immediately want to sign the dotted line. You need to be yourself and get to know your prospect. How are you going to build a business and help them grow their business if you are both on different pages? The one thing I have seen with people who get involved in network marketing they have a brain freeze. They market in their other J.O.B., but when they come on board with a network marketing company, they think it’s a different way to market. Ask questions about people – people love to talk about themselves. Find common ground between you both: ex. horoscope sign, where are they from, sports, hobbies, likes and dislikes? What you are doing is disarming them – making them feel a “friendship”, “bond”, and not that they are just another sign up that is going to pay for your autoship or put a few extra dollars in your pocket. I tell people that I don’t want their money that I get when they sign up – I want to build their business with them, because that $100 is nothing compared to what we can both make if we work together to build a successful business.

Have confidence in yourself. This is something people are going to sense right out of the gates. Do not be intimidated by anyone, never pre-judge anyone, and make it a lifestyle. Make it something you master, master disarming people so when you do INVITE them to take and share in your opportunity, they will not feel as though they are “being sold”. These are ways you can use with online or off line leads. Social media is an incredible way to generate leads by opening yourself up to others all over the world. Inbox chats, messaging, and exchanging numbers on social media sites all work well for me. All of these ways can lead to mega friendships which will lead to mega opportunities for the both of you. If you come across people who are involved with networking companies, remember that you are not there to compete against their business. You still want to build that friendship – do not bash their opportunity. They will want to join your team later if they see you as being successful and helping others. People want to follow leaders. Good luck building your businesses, but remember — it all starts with building relationships!
