  • There are a couple of parts that make up the capture page for your site. Basically the capture page is a single page that only has one purpose – to get a visitor to enter their name, email and possibly phone number on a form and subscribe to your list.

The easiest way to do this is to offer some type of report or audio recording that is free, and is something of value – we will call this a “piece of cheese” – just like attracting mice to a trap! This report must be something that the visitor will find useful, and is willing to give you their information to receive.

There are a few ways to get your own “piece of cheese”:

    1. You can write it yourself. If you have some type of knowledge that will help other people in their business, simply sit down and write up a short report. It does not have to be long – I have seen them anywhere from one page to 20 pages long – it is really up to you.
    2. Have someone else generate it for you. Do you know a successful person that could share some tips or tactics – perhaps in your upline or elsewhere? Call them up and record the interview – instant product that can easily be downloaded by the visitor.
    3. Pay someone to create a report for you. Use a service like http://www.elance.com – it works much like Ebay, and you can get good work done very cheaply. Simply create an outline and have the provider research the subject and write the report for you.

Once you have your “piece of cheese”, it is time to create the capture page for it. The capture page is basically a short advertisement for your report.

There are three parts to the capture page: The headline, the body and the signup area.

I do not have time to get into the subject of copywriting that subject could take volumes alone.

Check out Mike Dillard’s capture page here: http://mmnp.magneticsponsoring.com – Not only is this a good capture page, but is also an excellent case study for the type of funnel you will be setting up. Go ahead and subscribe to his “free boot camp” (i.e. “piece of cheese”) – and follow the process all the way through. His product is generic – in other words it can apply to all network marketing companies.

The sign-up portion of your capture page is really simple. You will simply put the HTML code that is provided by your auto responder company into the page, and when the visitor enters their information it will them automatically subscribe them to your list and take them to your product page (piece of cheese) as well.

Tomorrow, I’ll write about the specifics of a successful auto-responder.  Make it a great day!
