What Is An Autoresponder?
The simplest way to describe an auto responder is a piece of software that allows you to capture the visitors email and then follow-up with them on a predetermined interval.
In other words when a user signs up, they will automatically get your first email that you loaded into the system. Then two days later they will get your next email, etc, etc. If you do any surfing on the internet and subscribe to any newsletters you are no doubt on several auto responders. It is a very simple way to deliver information over time. By delivering information over time, it allows you to not only build relationships with your readers, but also continually market to them as well. The best thing about the auto responder is that it allows you to leverage your time. You see you only have to write an email once – load it into your service – and it will then be delivered to all subscribers for ever.
There are options that allow you to host this software on your own server. I would not recommend this at all if you are just beginning to get into the use of autoresponders. It is possible to do this, but it is a fairly advanced system that needs to be managed properly. It is better to pay a small monthly fee and work with a company that has the resources to run it. By outsourcing this service you are allowing the company to manage all the things you must do to meet the spam compliance laws and also make sure that your message gets delivered. If the subscriber never gets your email, it will not do you any good.
So if you are going to spend a few bucks a month for a solid auto responder service, I highly recommend Aweber: CLICK HERE TO SEE AWEBER
I would recommend going there now and getting your account set up!
Okay, so now you have your capture page setup, and you are getting people subscribing to your auto responder. Now what?
Start following up with your subscribers daily or at a minimum once a week. You see you are using this to build a relationship with them – remember this is network marketing, and network marketing is all about relationships. The content you provide in these emails will be the way this relationship is built. I would not simply hit them with the hard sell for your business everyday. I would spend 75% of the time giving them free information, letting them get to know you, and sharing stories about your business. The other 25% of the emails would be information about your specific company.
So remember 3 out of 4 emails will be relationship builders, and 1 out of 4 emails will be information about your company.
The idea is to begin to “brand you”. Remember that people don’t join your opportunity because of the products or compensation plan. They join either because they are attracted to you or your system. You must give them a reason for them to mentally see themselves joining hands with you and building their business. They must be able to see a system they can plug into that will allow them to grow their business – you need to be able to duplicate your success easily for your team!
Tomorrow I’ll follow up with this series by discussing the right way to “brand you” through blogging! Make it an awesome day everyone!
